Sandra Miles Memorial College Scholarship Fund

Information & Requirements

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or existing college student accepted to or enrolled in a college or university offering studies in music, art, or the performing arts & must have declared one of those three fields of study as their major or minor. Applicant must legally reside within north east Michigan, which we define as from I-75 & M-55 north & east to Lake Huron.

Application deadline is April 15

The winning applicant will be selected by May 15. Notification will follow by mail. Only the award winner will be notified.

AVNAF requests, but does not require, that the winner appear at the Nor-east'r Music & Art Festival on Saturday of the second weekend of June just prior to the scheduled Carrick Awards at Main Stage to receive a certificate & announcement of the Scholarship Award.

If the applicant is a graduating senior high school; they may provide contact information for their high school counselor & a certificate will be issued for presentation & announcement at their school's commencement ceremony.

The award will be distributed by AVNAF directly to the college or university in August or September of the same year.

Amount of the award will vary based onthe amount in the scholarship fund which is built from donations earmarked for it & portions of any profit from the annual Nor-east'r Music & Art Festival.

Preference may be given to those who have attended previous Nor-east'r Music & Art Festivals & other AVNAF events & who have applied for or recieved Carrick Awards in the past.
